Beautiful Stuff -- My project for this weekend....

So I've got a few yards of silk/rayon velvet in this lovely color called "smoke" that I've been dying to transform into a luscious jacket. I discovered that the bolt of  Kenneth Cole silk I have been hoarding would look wonderful as lining for it - now the problem was to find the most perfect buttons in the world. Then I came across these. They are beads -- abalone on wooden forms with silver end caps. They are stunning and also quite large. So this is my project for the weekend ahead. I have those Lois Erickson books about unique closures. I'll let you know how it turns out.....
