How To Find And Form A Successful Music Group For All Kinds of Music

Back in March I was contacted by a man named Frank O'Brien from Roanoke, Virginia who was writing a book that sounded interesting and highly marketable. Titled How To Find And Form A Successful Music Group For All Kinds of Music, the book is based in his lifetime of experience as a musician playing alto sax and clarinet in classical, jazz, blues, and more groups.

We met at the Azorean this summer when he was in Gloucester and had lunch and discussed plans for his book. As soon as I started reading it I knew he had a book that many, many people would find a valuable resource. It was published in December and is now available on Amazon, through Frank's blog and through other online booksellers.

The book covers everything from how to go about finding musicians you can work with, how to put together a songbook, how to memorize songs, how to approach venues, promotion, etc. to things as basic as what kind of equipment to bring with you and the basics of courtesy in dealing with everyone from venue managers to hecklers in the crowd. There is also a glossary of musical terms that he plans to expand in his next publishing endeavor.

So, if you are a musician, or if you have a musician in your life, this is an excellent resource. Visit Frank's blog for more information.

Thanks for reading.
